The love we give
away is the only love we keep.
Once upon a "who's in the garden?" A game I hated while I was growing up. I saw myself not being able to respond to the answer because I was viewed as the "the not fine little girl". So I grew up seeing myself as such. I grew up into a timid young teenager "disadvantaged" in many ways. Very slim, delayed boobs growth, those ones were like walnuts, flat "behind" and to make matters worse, I had coloured teeth (I still do though but see them differently now😎) which made me wear a permanent frown on my fave. For those who grew up in the 70s and 80s, this was a game we used to enjoy so much and an opportunity for you to show off that you were beautiful and also identify those who saw you as one. I hated that game! Reason? Anytime I attempted to join, my play mates were always very quick to let me know that I didn't qualify. It was painful to say the least. Some memories don't just go away! My self esteem was battered, I was timid and had...
Please could you explain this further ? I'd be honored if you could 😊.
ReplyDeleteLet me reply with a short story. There once was little girl who was being maltreated by an aunt she lived with. A young lady (her aunt's neighbor) noticed the horror this little girl was going through and secretly gave her (in her own little way) the love she lacked. This lady went as far as buying drugs to cure her little headaches and pain and taking personal care of this little girl. The lady's friend told her it was a wasted effort, she should concentrate her attention on her own future. She was never discouraged and gave all of herself. Some years later, the little girl's aunt died mysteriously and she was to be given up for adoption as her root could not be traced. She would not go with anyone else except to her aunt's neighbor who had shown her so much love like no one else. The good luck she brought into this lady's life cannot be described. This is just a side to the logic. No one can ever forget a show of true love. You can not keep it if you do not give it.
